And now... I've started the wrap!
This is the first pattern repeat. Not that long really, but I think its pretty good for both designing and knitting my first huge lace project.
Here is the lace pattern from my last post as part of the project!

Another Lacy Swatch
Here's my last swatch for this project before I get knitting! I was trying out a different lace pattern and a cable. I like how they both turned out so both are going into the project. I was trying out different endings for the diamonds so that's why the three are different, and don't mind those YOs in the wrong place on the left side... that's what the swatch is for anyway!

Is This What They Call Color?
In one of David's Bridal spam advertisements they sent me, the subject line was all about color in wedding dressing being the new thing.
Yeah... they're all white dresses, and they have colored trim or ribbons tied around them. Nothing against these dresses; they're just not for me. I just found the misleading subject annoying. Although, I'm very glad that some designers are finally letting go of the white dress fad.
Carry on.

Offbeat Bride
I just finished reading Offbeat Bride. It was mostly the story of the author's wedding with little tips thrown in along the way.
It was a refreshing and enjoyable read, and reassuring that I don't have do things how other people want them. It also had ideas for dealing with people who aren't so into my ideas, things like "Neither one of us are changing our names." Although I'm still confident that we will get mail for a nonexistent person.
I also found out what some acronyms mean:
STD is not what you think! It stands for Save the Date, which are cards that I'm not sending out.
WIC stands for Wedding Industrial Complex which is the wedding industry that hears the word wedding and raises the price.

Swatch Time
I'm at the beginning of a rather large project. I'm going to design and knit a wrap to wear at my upcoming wedding!
This swatch is testing out a lace motif. It's a nice oak leaf but not really what I'm going for.
And this red one is for gauge and to see how different stitches look in the yarn I'm using. I also wanted to use this yarn for the MaidenShawl pattern, but my gauge is so far off its not even funny. If I have to get more yarn I'll be starting it even later and won't be able to knit along with the group!

Spring Blog Carnival
Spring is almost here and I'm looking forward to it. Winter has it's upside like skiing and ice skating, but I'm ready for it to warm up. The weather has just been teasing us here, getting warm and then cold again. I like not having to wear a coat anymore.
There are plenty of warm weather activities to look forward too! I want to go camping, and water skiing, and just go to the beach!
