The blog carnival topic for May 26th is to post a tutorial. It could be a craft tutorial, a recipe, something like that. Since I won't have access to a video camera until after this is due, I'll go with the recipe, but it still gives me an idea for a later post!
I've decided to share with you my totally awesome chocolate chip cookie recipe.
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 stick of butter (half a cup)
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 package (11-12oz) dark chocolate chips
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl. It may help to soften the butter a bit first, but don't completely melt it. If it is still too dry add just a little (2 oz or so) water to help the ingredients mix.
Bake at 375 for 9-11 min or until done. Don't let them burn!
This has a lot less butter than a lot of cookie recipes out there. It makes the cookies just a little better for you and helps the cookies not spread out and run into each other in the oven.

Blooming in my craft...
I've been making all sorts of things lately and Etsy certainly encourages that, especially since I met up with the OneADay group. I've been knitting for over a decade now, and I'm always looking to try something new. Knitting is my gateway to all fiber arts. It all started with knitting and then knit and fulled items, then wet and needle felting, and of course I have to try spinning my own yarn and then dyeing it, all with some sewing on the side. There are the new techniques too. There are the knitting basics, and then I'm making all sorts of clothes, and trying double knitting, and magic loop, fancy color work which leads to two yarns at once. Since I knit english that meant I taught myself continental too, which I'm still kinda slow at. I like my socks two at once from the toe up. I haven't really been one for following patterns. I tend to make up my own or modify a pattern because I want it a bit different. My needle and yarn stash has really grown too!
